ASOS X Hello Kitty Collab Will Have You Reliving Your Childhood

Recently, everyone’s favorite kitty teamed up with UK-based online retailer, ASOS, for a fashion collaboration that will have you feeling all kinds of nostalgic. Though you might think you’ve outgrown Hello Kitty, the 40-piece line actually includes adorable pieces that are totally college-appropriate.

From skirts and tops, to shoes and accessories, the collection’s diverse items all remain true to the cat’s cutesy aesthetic. Just about every piece in the line is Hello Kitty-inspired, either featuring the cat’s signature colors of red, black, and white, or her iconic red bow.

No matter what your style is, there’s something in this line for everyone. Whether you’re looking for super glam sequin dresses and sweaters perfect for upcoming holiday parties or casual basics like striped tees and hoodies for everyday wear, you’ll find a piece you love. The true standouts of the collection seem to be the fun and quirky accessories—from Hello Kitty-shaped hoop earrings and bow-adorned beanies, to chunky mismatched heels and dabbing Hello Kitty socks, there’s no shortage of cuteness for the Hello Kitty lover.

And we’re not the only ones who think so. Refinery29 recently wrote about how the line is perfect for the upcoming gift-giving season: “You’re going to want to grab an item for yourself and a friend.” POPSUGAR also highlighted the maturity of the collection, noting, “it’s not juvenile in the least, as every item from the collaboration is made for grown-ass women who want to show their love for the ‘90s.” 

ASOS is just the latest retailer to work with the beloved character. Considering Hello Kitty’s popularity, it’s no surprise that many of our favorite brands have also collaborated with the retailer in the past. This past spring, Nylon magazine debuted an affordable streetwear line inspired by Hello Kitty and many of the other Sanrio characters, and it’s still available for purchase online. Over the summer, the popular U.K. brand Lazy Oaf partnered with the kitty to launch a 16-piece capsule collection, full of warm-weather appropriate separates you can still shop for on ASOS. Taking it all the way back to 2016, ColourPop teamed up with Sanrio to create the ColourPop x Hello Kitty collection, which sold out almost immediately. Given the success of these lines, we can only expect to see more Hello Kitty collabs in the future.
