90’s Makeup: Quick, Easy and Seriously Edgy

The 90s are back and the choker has made its infamous return becoming this spring’s hottest fashion accessory. In our opinion, what really enhances an overall look with a choker is a makeup look. A choker is edgy, it’s bold and the same should be for your makeup. Zipped has a quick and easy makeup tutorial to bring out your inner 90s grunge.

Step One: Base Color

Start off with picking a natural brown eyeshadow and apply it over your lid with a fluffy shadow brush for complete application. When choosing this color, go for a shade of brown that goes well with your skin tone.

Use the same color for your lower lashline and bring the color under your eyes.

Step Two Eyeliner

The most important step in this tutorial is the eyeliner because this is how you really achieve the grunge look. With an eyeliner pencil make a smooth line on the upper lash line of your lid.

Then, with a smudging brush, smudge the liner in a straight line until the liner becomes shadowy on your lids. To darken the liner, use a black eyeshadow to enhance the color and achieve a smokey look. Bring the liner to your lower lash line as well and smudge the product in a straight line

TIP: If you want to enhance and deepen the look of your eyes, apply the pencil liner into the upper tightline of eyes.

Step 3 Lashes

Using your favorite mascara (ours is the L’oreal Voluminous Mascara) apply two coats to your upper and lower lashes.

Step Four Bold Brows

A 90s makeup look is not complete with a bold set of brows. Fill in your brows with a eyebrow powder/pencil.
