Queen Bey Ruling the Racks with New Athleisure Line

As a female musician with the power to stun the world with an unmarketed audio-visual album, to have a #1 single nearly every year of the past decade, and to hold 20 Grammy’s to her name, it’s no surprise that Beyoncé is considered one of the most empowering females of this generation. One can only hope to achieve what this 34-year-old singer-songwriter, actress, mother, wife, and overall powerhouse has in her young lifetime.

Now while we may not be the next Queen B, we can at least look as fabulous as she does with her new exercise clothesline that she recently released this month.

With the tagline “Creating a New Kind of Performance Wear: Modern Essentials for Both On and Off the Field,”Ivy Park, isn’t only for the strong-hearted gym-goers. Ivy Park is all about designing a “loungewear” line both good for exercising in the gym or running errands on the go. Whatever you are doing, you are sure to look great while doing it.

According to the website, “Ivy Park empowers women through sport.” This clearly refers to all sports, seeing as the line itself has over 200 pieces, which can be mixed and matched together to create a look that is as unique as you. The collection price starts at $30 and ranges up to $200, so there is a look for every budget.  Some highlights within the line include metallic zip ups, logo-printed sports bras, high-waisted capri pants, headbands, and even swimsuits, as modeled by Beyoncé herself on the front page of the site.

Beyoncé said that her inspiration for this line stemmed from wanting to empower women to love their bodies and emphasized how important it is for women to focus on themselves when they need to. “It’s not about perfection. It’s about purpose,” she says. “Women have to take the time to focus on our mental health-take time for self, for the spiritual, without feeling guilty or selfish.” And while it may seem odd that one would create a clothing line through this thinking process, it rings true.

As the saying goes, clothes make the man-or woman in this case-and they have the power to empower women of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Clothes have the ability to make you believe in yourself, and make you feel powerful and strong, even when you sometimes have a hard time believing it yourself. With this new line, Beyoncé is looking to uplift her fans and women everywhere just as they have empowered her through their support and dedication to her music.
