Look for Less: Cara Delevingne
BY Hannah Malach
We all know that Cara Delevingne is the queen of edgy street style: her latest casual night out look is no exception. Cara donned a pair of basic black jeans, along with a Saint Laurent button down blouse and the jacket of the moment — the bomber. However, Cara’s outfit wasn’t the only thing that stood out, in fact, her unique, yet stylish accessories are what really stole the show: a printed silk scarf, a mini denim backpack, and chic Chanel sneakers.
This ensemble might’ve been worn in the evening, but that doesn’t mean it’s not perfect for heading to class or going on a daytime outing with your friends. Luckily, this look can be easily (and much more frugally) re-created using items from some of your favorite stores. While Cara might have Karl and Hedi on speed dial, most of us college students aren’t so fortunate:
Polka Dot Blouse (Zara, $39.90) http://www.zara.com
If you want to impress your fellow classmates or just feel like dressing up for lecture, this Zara blouse is an almost perfect replica of Cara’s, with the addition of some stylish pockets.
Boohoo Bomber Jacket (Asos, $50.83) http://www.asos.com
This oh-so-popular jacket has been seen everywhere in shades of black and army green. The navy color adds an awesome twist while still remaining relatively neutral.
Sunset Mid Rise Jean (Forever 21, $17.90) http://www.forever21.com
Denim is easy to impersonate, so if you don’t own a pair of black jeans (even though you should), you can get a great pair at a fair price point.
Patterned Scarf (H&M, $1.99) http://www.hm.com
Mix patterns as successfully as Cara does by choosing one color that both patterns have in common: in this case, it’s white.
Denim Woven Mini Backpack (Asos, $42.36) http://www.asos.com
While we’re quite used to seeing denim in pants, tops, jackets, or dresses, denim bags rarely get a spotlight. Gear up for festival season, and spring in general, by adding one like this to your wardrobe.
Adidas Originals Black ZX Flux Jewel Trainers (Asos, $152.49) http://www.asos.com
This black and white pair of trainers is a near perfect match to Cara’s, and while still a bit pricey, they’re a steal compared to the $995 you’d have to spend on her Chanel’s.
