Wipe Off the Contour: How to Strobe This Summer
BY Annie Zeina
Ok ladies, contouring has become a religious part of our makeup routine. But let’s face it: contouring is too much work in the hot and hectic summer months. Strobing has quickly become the new contour. It is simple, easy, and gives you a fresh faced look that highlights your natural beauty. With the perfect tan and beachy waves, summer calls for a makeup routine that will compliment your sun kissed glow and illuminate your best features.
Face
1 | The most important aspect of a summer makeup routine is your skin. Before you start to strobe, use an SPF lotion/ primer as a base for your foundation. Double up on sun protection by using a foundation that also contains SPF.
2 | Using a cream highlighter, simply apply the the product with a brush along your cheekbones in a smooth line. Do the same on your nose, forehead and your cupid’s bow to target the best areas where light hits to illuminate the skin.
3 | To set your cream highlighter, you will want to use a powder highlighter to give your cheeks more shine and keep it in place in the summer heat.
Eyes
1 | Find your favorite bronzey, glowy shadow and apply it on your eyelids. Apply the same shadow to your under eyes to make your eyes shimmer.
2 | In a smooth windshield wiper motion apply a slightly deeper transition color into the outer parts of the lid and bring it in toward the inner corner to define your eyes.
3 | Finish with mascara, coating your top and bottom lashes.
Lips
1 | Using a nude lip liner, line your outer lips to make your lips a full pouty look. Once the liner is applied finish your lips off by using a nude or neutral gloss on your lips.
Your neutral strobing look is complete! With no harsh contour, your makeup is fresh and ready for summer.
